Recipe of the MonthTuna/Garlic Biscuits1 8 oz can tuna 2 cloves garlic 3/4 cup water 1/4 cup oil 2 cups oat bran (can use corn meal or wheat germ) 1 cup flour 1 tablespoon baking soda (may need more flour to make a dough thick enough to roll out) Put tuna, garlic and water in blender, puree. Put in bowl, add oil. Mix in oat bran, flour and baking soda. Add additional flour to make a dough thick enough to roll out. Roll out to 1/2 inch thick - cut with fish shaped cookie cutters. Put on wax paper on cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Turn off oven, let cookies stay in oven drying for another 20 minutes. Store in fridge up to 2 weeks, or freeze up to 2 months. Note: Garlic can be omitted from this recipe. Some Available Dogs

July 14, 2007 Fun Match!We would like to welcome you to attend our yearly Fun Match!! July 14, 2007 - Fun Match - Richardson Park - 9:30 a.m. - Match Flyer (PDF) - 325 Richardson Dr (off of Sereno Drive), Vallejo, CA A Fun Match is similar to a dog show - only this one has only Siberian Huskies. Very low key, BBQ, guarantee of puppies and rescue dogs can prance around the ring too!!! Come and enter your NorSled dog in the Parade of Rescues, enjoy a park full of Siberian Huskies and watch the show! NorSled will sponsor a free lesson on "showing" your Siberian in the ring at 9:15 a.m. so that everyone can feel comfortable in the show ring. So bring your pup down and have a great day.

For a $15 donation to NorSled you can have your favorite photo printed on the spot ($15 for a 4"x6"- $20 for a 5"x7"). Sandwiches will be available for $5.00 and there will be a BBQ with hot dogs and hamburgers sponsored by the NorSled volunteers. Bay to BarkersBay to Barkers in Berkeley Cesar Chavez Park at the Berkeley Marina - 9:00-1:00 p.m. Bay to Barkers is a FUN dog walk and run at Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley (off University Ave.) that's happening on Sunday, July 15, from 9-1 p.m. There will be all kinds of "doggy fun" including: agility contests, a doggy fashion show, rescue groups, a walk/run, a silent auction and more. If you are looking for a new companion or just fun things to do with your dog then don't miss Bay to Barkers! NorSled will be bringing it's newest bevy of beauties for this fun event including our four, recently rescued, five month old Husky mix puppies. Be sure to stop by booth #35 and say "Hello!". 9th Annual Niles Dog Show & Pooch Pow-Wow!July 21- Third Street Park, Niles in Fremont. 9 AM to 3 PM – come and visit NorSled and bring your rescue dogs. Volunteers NeededAs you all know Northern California Sled Dog Rescue, NorSled, is an all volunteer, non-profit organization. We rely on our supporter's generous monetary donations and our volunteers./p> Currently we need volunteers to help us with numerous activities. Here are just a few of the ways that you can help: Volunteer to help with an adoption fair or event - We hold weekly adoption fairs and events at locations throughout the Bay Area. If you're considering getting a Nordic breed dog this is a great way to get to know the breed. Fostering a NorSled dog - Do you have a space in your home and a place in your heart to foster a NorSled dog? Shelters are overcrowded and there are many dogs that need saving, but we have no space. Please consider fostering a NorSled dog today. Medical, food, and other expenses are paid for by NorSled. Transporting dogs - We need assistance transporting dogs from shelters to foster homes throughout Northern California. Grant writing and fundraising - If you have experience writing grants or raising funds we need your help. We have many grants that we would like to apply for, but we need help and expertise to get these grants written. Posting ads to Craigslist and other Web sites - We need volunteers to post our dogs on Craigslist and other Web sites once a week. Selling candy - We are selling See's Candy to raise funds to care for our dogs - would you be willing to sell a box or two at your work, school, or other location? Writing articles - Are you a talented writer? Would you be willing to write articles for our newsletter and Web site? Topics may include training articles, event blurbs, and success stories. Create newsletters, flyers, and other print publications - Help us to spread the word about our organization by volunteering your design skills. Share recipes - Do you feed your canine delicious gourmet meals? Share your recipes with us for our upcoming recipe book.

Amanda is quite the acrobat...jumping off a bed she landed and broke
all her little toes, NorSled is progress of taking her to see an
orthopedic doctor. We will need assistance with surgery, NorSled was
told that she needed pins in her toes in order for them to heal

Update - Dawson has been treated for his heartworm and has had his ear tumor removed and is just about ready for his forever home.
